If you don\u2019t know this about me than you\u2019re probably new around here. It was my introduction to nerdom and I\u2019ve literally been watching it since the day I was born. So when I saw a booth at\u00a0Comikaze\u00a0advertising a\u00a0<em>Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0book called\u00a0<em>These are the Voyages: TOS, Season One<\/em>\u00a0I was intrigued and I had to buy one of the signed copies.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5477\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">About a month ago at Comikaze<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Written and assembled by\u00a0Marc Cushman, it was being hailed (pun intended) by many as the best S<em>tar Trek<\/em>\u00a0book ever written. Now, I\u2019ve read many, many\u00a0<em>Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0books on topics ranging from\u00a0physics\u00a0to\u00a0<em>gagh<\/em>, including reading each edition of the\u00a0<em>Star Trek Encyclopedia<\/em>\u00a0cover to cover and most of the continuing universe sagas. I\u2019ve loved every one of them but this claim was something I had to experience for myself.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5478\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Author Marc Cushman<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>I was not disappointed. If anything, I was enthralled. Quite simply, if you\u2019re a Trekkie or a Trekker or a Trekken, you have to read this book. The forward is written by\u00a0John D.F. Black, the last surviving Producer of\u00a0<em>Star Trek,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Mary Black,\u00a0his lovely wife who was his secretary and who read every script and note that landed on John\u2019s desk.<\/p>\n<p>While at\u00a0Comikaze\u00a0I exchanged business cards with the lovely folks running the booth and when the opportunity arose to interview Marc, John and Mary on the podcast, Darcy and I jumped on it. What follows is one of the greatest moments that has happened to me since I started HNG back in 2010.
