Who ya gonna call? Hot Nerd Girl!!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

So my friend Hayden is slightly (and when I say slightly I mean majorly) obsessed with Ghostbusters<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ecto-1 ftw!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We once drove all the way downtown to a tech convention just to see Ecto-1 parked outside.\u00a0 We stayed just long enough to take pictures and chat with the owner and then left.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then we got up early and headed to Costco to meet Dan Aykroyd<\/a> and buy bottles of his\u00a0Crystal\u00a0Head vodka a\u00a0while back.<\/p>\n

So when\u00a0Hayden found out that there would be a special showing of the film at Arclight Theatre with Ernie Hudson<\/a> and William Atherton<\/a> showing up for a Q&A session, it was pretty much mandatory that we attend.\u00a0 Events like this are one of the few perks of living in Los Angeles.\u00a0 You\u2019d think there would be more perks, but nope, this town pretty much sucks.<\/p>\n

It also happens to be Hayden\u2019s birthday so it was a total score for me since it\u2019s quite possibly the easiest birthday present ever.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hayden and HNG at it again<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I showed up before Hayden did and just happened to run into William Atherton in the Arclight\u00a0gift shop.\u00a0 This was not my first time meeting Bill (we\u2019re on a first name basis now).\u00a0 I had met him once before in 2005 at the Whole Foods Market in Woodland Hills.\u00a0 We were both grocery shopping and our eyes met.\u00a0 We introduced ourselves, chatted for minute and then parted ways.\u00a0 It was a moment, surrounded by organic, cage-free brown eggs, that I will never forget.\u00a0 Hayden showed up a minute later and we took pictures with him and scored autographs.\u00a0 I had Bill sign my crystal skull which he found highly amusing.\u00a0 Amusing enough to write his note to Dan Aykroyd instead of to me.\u00a0 A note that Danny (we\u2019re on a first name basis now) will probably never, ever see.\u00a0 But whatever.\u00a0 Bill\u2019s an awesome guy and not nearly as dickless\u00a0as\u00a0Venkman would have you\u00a0think.<\/p>\n

A girl and two pecks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Watching the movie on the big screen was epic.\u00a0 Let\u2019s just say that I was not old enough to watch it when it was originally on the big screen *ahem* so this was a real, if slightly fuzzy, treat.<\/p>\n

Then came the moment we were all waiting for: the Q&A with Ernie Hudson (Winston), William Atherton (Peck), Joe Medjuck\u00a0(Producer), Steve Johnson (Slimer, Visual Effects Artist), and Billy Bryan (Stay Puft Marshmallow Man).\u00a0 Oh, but wait, Ernie Hudson decided not to show.\u00a0 Or even call to say that he wasn\u2019t going to show.<\/p>\n

WTF ERNIE\u00a0HUDSON???\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ernie, you are dead to me<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I know you\u2019re so busy with your thriving acting career and all but really?\u00a0 You didn\u2019t even have the manners to call and say that you were so sorry that you couldn\u2019t grace us with your presence?<\/p>\n

Ugh.\u00a0 Whatever.\u00a0 My crystal skull didn\u2019t want your signature on it anyways.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Q&A sans Ernie went smashingly with one exception: the host decided that his questions were far more important than fan questions and only left enough time for TWO questions from the audience.\u00a0 Douche.\u00a0 As my friend Kate would say \u201cThat\u2019s soooooooooooo LA…\u201d<\/p>\n

All in all it was a great night. And although the kid next to me made a strange clicking noise when he yawned EVERY 30 SECONDS, I had a great time hanging out with the people behind the magic.\u00a0 If they ever do one of these for Star Trek<\/em>\u00a0I might just have a joygasm.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
