My cat and I say EFF YOU CAFFEINE!! OkIgobubyenow<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I\u2019m giving up caffeine.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve decided that I\u2019m far too dependent on it and I will be controlled by no one and no thing.<\/p>\n

So how\u2019s that working out for me?<\/p>\n

Well\u2026.today is the first day and I have decided that I\u2019m going to figure out a way to pull my brain out of my head through my left eye socket and toss it in a blender because anything has got to feel better than the agony I\u2019m in right now.<\/p>\n

To be perfectly honest, I\u2019m a little surprised I can form complete sentences at the moment.<\/p>\n

Oh, Dr. Crusher, I need you and your magical little hypospray.\u00a0 A quick little scan with your medical tricorder and all would be well in the universe.<\/p>\n

No seriously, shoot me up with something Beverly.\u00a0 I don’t care what it is as long as my head stops throbbing.<\/p>\n

Captain Janeway feels my pain:<\/p>\n

Captain Janeway:<\/strong> Coffee. Black.
\nNeelix:<\/strong> Uh, sorry Captain but we’ve lost two more replicators this morni\u2014
\nJaneway:<\/strong> Listen to me carefully, Neelix, because I’m only going to say this once. Coffee. <\/em>Black<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll admit, coffee isn\u2019t my thing.\u00a0 I like the smell but can\u2019t stand the taste.\u00a0 My vice is brown pop.\u00a0 Coke, Pepsi, RC cola, whatever, I don\u2019t care as long as it\u2019s not diet and it can be pumped directly into my veins.\u00a0 I drink it every morning without fail.\u00a0 Red Bull and Rockstar got me through college.\u00a0 “What Professor, you need a 20 page paper about the burial practices of the Xinguanos tribe by Friday?\u00a0 Excuse me while I whip out my 40oz. can of Monster and I\u2019ll be right on that.”<\/p>\n

Captain Picard goes for Earl Grey tea (hot, in case you didn\u2019t know).\u00a0 It\u2019s a black tea and is therefore caffeinated albeit less so than coffee or Coke.\u00a0 I\u2019ll drink it in a pinch but I gotta say that it tastes like ass (sorry Brits).\u00a0 I\u2019ve gagged down two mugs of the stuff today in an attempt to lesson the effects of my caffeine hangover and so far it hasn\u2019t helped a whole lot.<\/p>\n

The irony here?\u00a0 I\u2019ve never had an actual hangover.\u00a0 It\u2019s true.\u00a0 It\u2019s my Super Power.\u00a0 I can get liquored up to my hearts content and feel fit as a fiddle come morning.\u00a0 But a day without caffeine and I want to shoot myself in the face.<\/p>\n

Go figure.<\/p>\n

So yeah, with the exception of a few Star Trek<\/em> references, this isn\u2019t exactly a nerdy post semicolon however coma<\/em> it\u2019s pretty much all I can think about at the moment so I\u2019m going with it.\u00a0 I’ll let you know if I succeed or fail in my anti-caffeine mission.<\/p>\n
