A Look Back at HNG at NASA

5 years ago today when I had the honor of spending 26 hours in Louisiana and Mississippi at Michoud Assembly Facility and Stennis Space Center for the Orion SLS Vertical Assembly Center ribbon cutting ceremony. Our group of social media-ites got to tour both facilities, attend the ceremony, and the press conference. I even got to ask NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden a question and NASA liked one of my tweets. It was a dream come true for this kid who always dreamed of going to Space Camp but could never afford it. Plus, it was a really big deal for me to go by myself. I am very shy by nature and prefer to have someone I know and trust near me in crowds and in new places. Going alone was a small act of bravery and one that I was determined to pursue. I am so grateful that I did because this will always be one of my fondest memories. Long live our space program.
