10 Hottest Babes of Sci-Fi

There is nothing quite like seeing a hot chick in a hot outfit kicking some alien ass. Maybe itโ€™s the funky hairdos, or the skin tight outfits, or the technobabble being spoken by a pair of ruby red lips. I donโ€™t know, but can you honestly tell me that thereโ€™s anything greater? Honestly.

Honestly.

I didnโ€™t think so.

So in honor of these bodacious, bad ass, and brilliant babes (cause brains are important too), hereโ€™s my list of the top 10 hottest babes in Sci-Fi.

Youโ€™re welcome.

10. Nichelle Nichols

She wasnโ€™t the first sci-fi babe but sheโ€™s the earliest one on the list and she has the distinction of having broken down several racial barriers as Uhura. Not only was she a main character on a television show who was black (and a female), but she participated in the first ever inter-racial kiss on television in the Star Trek episode โ€œPlatoโ€™s Stepchildren.โ€ Of course, they had to make the kiss forced by aliens to get it past the censors but it was a step in the right direction. When the pressure became too much and she was tempted to quit, none other than Martin Luther King Jr himself convinced her to stay on the show. On a personal note, Iโ€™ve met her and sheโ€™s AWESOME.

9. Carrie-Anne Moss

She wears skin tight leather while kicking some serious ass. Having worn skin tight leather I can tell you exactly how difficult that is. Her main claim to sci-fi fame is the Matrix trilogy (weโ€™ll stick with the first one, shall we?) Itโ€™s a movie that revolutionized film making, CGI, story telling, you name it. Some people dig Neo, I dig Trinity. I even dig her slicked back hair which is not something I usually go for (*cough* Jamie Lee Curtis *cough* True Lies *cough) I can think of a couple of trinities involving Carrie-Anne that I wouldnโ€™t mind being a part of.

8. Linda Hamilton

Holy craparoni Batman, talk about ripped. The then Mrs. Cameron worked out like a maniac to prep for her role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day showing a grit and self-discipline totally befitting her character. Any woman who can break out of a maximum security facility with a broom stick and a hypodermic needle deserves kudos in my book. And a giant underground storage bunker full of weapons? Yes please! Very few women look hot with a cigarette hanging out of their mouths. Linda Hamilton is one of them.

7. Sigourney Weaver

From ripped to Ripley, Sigourney is another bad ass chick with a chip on her shoulder. She may fight aliens instead of robots but, like Sarah Connor, Ellen Ripley keeps coming back for more. Sheโ€™s also managed to solidify her place in sci-fi history with a couple of other franchises in the form of Ghostbusters and Avatar (personally my favorite character in the movie). After all of that, how could she possibly endear herself to me even more? Oh, I dunno, maybe by starring in one of my very favorite movies ever, GALAXY QUEST. Never give up, never surrender Sigourney. We need you.

6. Famke Janssen

Genre-wise most people automatically think of X-Men when they think of Miss Famke and I know Iโ€™m walking a fine line here since technically X-Men is a comic book movie, not a sci-fi movie *semi-colon however comma* sheโ€™s got some sci-fi cred of her very own. Ok, yes, she is a Bond girl but Iโ€™m not referring to that either. Letโ€™s go back about 18 years and remember a Star Trek: The Next Generation episode called โ€œThe Perfect Mateโ€ in which Famke played Kamala, an alien that looks kind of like a Trill before we knew what Trillโ€™s were. Kamala is biologically created to become the perfect mate for the person she bonds with. As in, loves football and beer and giving blowjobs.ย ย You name it, she’s on it.ย  The perfect woman. For this role alone she deserves a place on this list.

5. Milla Jovovich

Another ass kicker. God I love a woman who can kick some ass. In The 5th Element, Leeloo wore little more than some first aid tape and a bright orange โ€˜do. It matched Bruce Willisโ€™ bright orange spandex wife beater and Iโ€™m pretty sure he saw that as a sign of fate. I know I would. Resident Evil has zombies in it.ย  I may have mentioned once or twice beforeย that I donโ€™t much care for zombies (stoopid nightmares). ย Iโ€™ve seen the first movie but none of the sequels.ย  Anyone who kills zombies is a-ok with me.

4. Marina Sirtis (see also Gates McFadden, Terry Farrell, Nana Visitor, Jeri Ryan)

The Sexy Sirens of Star Trek television. There are many of them and they are all pertiful. However, weโ€™re going to focus on the utterly divine Deanna Troi for the purposes of this list. Originally introduced wearing a traditional ladyโ€™s uniform complete with a short hemline (ala Uhura) it was decided after oh, about 2 episodes, that her best assets were a little higher up on her body. Therefore, she became the one and only Starfleet officer ever permitted to not only ditch the uniform but wear cleavage-tastic outfits in lieu of said uniform. Much as it would inspire the troops, I just canโ€™t see the USMC permitting such a thing. Only for Troi was the rule book thrown out. Plus Iโ€™ve heard that she cusses like a sailor with her awesome British accent. LOVE her. On a personal note, my brother married a girl named Troi which automatically knocked him up a few notches in my book. Jealous much? You should be, cause sheโ€™s AWESOME.

3. Zoe Saldana

I danced for 15 years, and really, itโ€™s how the โ€œHotโ€ in โ€œHot Nerd Girlโ€ got there. So I first fell in love with Miss Zoe when she was in the movie Center Stage about a ballet school in NYC. Since then she has become something of a sci-fi โ€œIt Girlโ€ with her roles in the new Star Trek movie (soon to be franchise) and Avatar movie (soon to be franchise). An admitted sci-fi geek, sheโ€™s not afraid to challenge herself and take on larger than life roles. Oh, and sheโ€™s HAWT. Sheโ€™s got that going for her.

2. Olivia Wilde

The sci-fi โ€œIt Girlโ€ of the not so distant future. Hereโ€™s a girl who has yet to be seen on screen in a sci-fi film. All of that will change on December 17th when Tron: Legacy comes out. In a way sheโ€™s replacing Cindy Morganโ€™s Yori with her Quorra and thatโ€™s just fine with me. She gets to sport a normal (if slightly Mia Wallace-esque) hairdo instead of a day-glo bald cap which Iโ€™m sure sheโ€™s pretty dang stoked about. But thatโ€™s not all folks. In the works are Cowboys & Aliens with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford and Now with Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy, both of which look extremely promising. Sci-fi โ€œIt Girlโ€ of the future. You heard it here first.

1. Carrie Fisher

If I didnโ€™t put Princess Leia at the top of the list Iโ€™m pretty sure there would be a nerd uprising and I would have my HNG status revoked. If thereโ€™s anyone on this planet that can pull off a bronze bikini better than Carrie Fisher circa 1983, I have yet to see them. Star Wars is an iconic film, one that I watched over and over and over again growing up. Part of it was the Ewoks (soooo cute!) and part of it was the fact that I would have given my left pinkie toe to be Princess Leia, cinnabon hairdo and all.

And here’s how you can make it happen! A basic Princess Leia costume goes for about $50.ย  If I can get enough people to donateย up to that amount,ย I’ll do a photo shoot and post it on the site! So donate below and let’s get this photo shoot happening!

My Sarah Connor impression…uh…if she were to wear heels…which she would never do…meh.

  1. Interesting list… I’m happy about the inclusion of #7 but that is personal bias. I must admit that I’m a bit disappointed that Gillian Anderson (Ms. Dana Scully) didn’t make the list. She made the FBI (and millions of viewers) stand to attention and was definitely one of the top Sci-Fi babes for a full on decade. I would have even thrown Angelina Jolie in there at #10 for her Tomb Raider flicks. I don’t think 2 or 3 deserve to make the list… quite yet.

    1. I figured there would be some controversy over 2 and 3. Scully is gorgeous, no doubt about it, but her character was pretty stoic and her she-suits weren’t my definition of “hot” but I’m sure they are for plenty of other people! Jolie would definitely be included in a list of video game flick babes. Another list for another day ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. Agree on the outfits, but I think that’s what made her hot! Plus she was tough in a “realistic” way, not over the top.

So I happened upon this article randomly… very similar!
        http://www.hecklerspray.com/top-sexiest-20-movie-babes-that-could-kick-the-crap-out-of-you/201052735.php

Notice #1… While Tomb Raider is indeed based on a Video Game, the game series itself was totally Sci-Fi based, so I’d still argue she should be considered. I’m also down with #2 on the list above… I might actually Kate at the top of my list. Actually come to think of it, Scarlett Johansson kicking ass in Iron Man 2 was incredibly hot as well. Oh the choices!

        1. It’s true…ok, I guess I’ll have to do a “Hottest Babes of Sci-Fi TV” list. Then I can put the lovely ladies from Battlestar Gallactica, Firefly, Babylon 5, etc. on it in addition to Scully ๐Ÿ˜‰

GREAT article! Thanks for posting it! And I totally agree with pretty much all of them.

It’s hard to compare hot babes isn’t it?? LOL

I feel Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) was criminally omitted.. C’mon?! Gorgeous eyes and the leopard next spots… I’m just sayin’

        1. LOL, Deanna Troi is standing in for all of the hot ladies of the newer Trek shows ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, I just wrote a whole thing about Jadzia here: http://hotnerdgirl.wordpress.com/2012/02/28/5-reasons-why-i-heart-deep-space-nine/

      3. I recant Tri’cia.. you have indeed paid proper homage. I always thought I would get along well with Wesley Crusher. I think its the whole science nerd thing.

  2. I have to say, if anyone could rock the Slave Leia, Kristen Bell sure did a heck of a job! …although the kini was SO not even close to the original for someone who is willing to pause and check on his friend’s 55″ LCD, Kristen’s seriously cut abs definitely were drool worthy.

    1. Fun fact: Kirsten Bell graduated from the same tiny little Catholic High School in Royal Oak, MI that my Dad graduated from ๐Ÿ˜€

I would include Angelina Jolie, not for Tomb Raider, but for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (A hawt girl in uniform AND an eyepatch?), Cyborg 2 (not the best film, but does establish her sci-fi cred), and Hackers.

BTW Kudos on Famke Janssen, my personal vote for Hottest Woman Alive, who has even deeper sci-fi cred with: Deep Rising (is there any other reason to watch that movie?), The Faculty, and Goldeneye (which can arguably fit under “spy movies” and “sci-fi movies”).

      1. Good points about Jolie…maybe I should have done a Top 11! And I’m so stoked to see all the Famke love!!

  4. id like to put jeri ryan(seven of nine), hayden panettiere(claire bennnet), and natasha henstrige (eve). not the most popular of sci fi but hot! hope you get the money id definitely donate a few bucks if i had any lol

    1. Jeri Ryan is sort of on this list ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hayden would be on the “Hottest TV Sci-Fi Babes” list fo sho. And you are right that I totally neglected Natasha! That was a definite fail on my part! Although I do LOVE my list….Natasha can be an honorable mention ๐Ÿ˜€

Why did Carrie Fisher ever take up smoking?! She was already smoking HOT!!!

  6. Now that you mentioned it, I totally agree on #4! ha. I, like you, have been amazed that she was allowed to wear that uniform on board. The blonde girl in TNG was pretty hot too O.O

    1. It’s totally random, right?? Seven of Nine had the excuse that she wasn’t a member of Starfleet but not only is Troi an officer, but she’s BRIDGE officer! That sits right next to the Captain! They definitely took liberties with her outfits, to say the least. Not that I’m complaining ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. Picard: “Here, Troi, wear this!”

        o.O

        1. I think Riker would be more likely to pull that line LOL

  7. I loved Milla Jovovich in The Fifth Element, all wrapped up in bandages and speaking a sweet alien tongue…what an absolute stunner!!!

Sarah Connor is the name that should stay at the top of this list.
I grew up feeling like Sarah Connor, but being a little Bridget Jones, nobody’s perfect.
Maybe I would add Jadzia Dax, my favourite character in DS9, she’s so beautiful and strong.
Famke Janssen was a perfect choice for Jean Grey, and a Star Trek actress…just as Patrick Stewart… She would be my third place.

    1. I totally know what you mean. When I was a kid the boy next door had a toy pump action shotgun. I would borrow that thing all the time and we would play Terminator in our cul-de-sac. I was always Sarah Connor. Every day was an adventure!

Seeing Olivia Wilde on this list is great. She was already top 2 in my celebrity crush list from her role on house, and now that she’s doing sci-fi? awesome. Good eye!

  10. What about:
Claudia Black (Stargate SG-1, Farscape, Pitch Black)
    Gigi Edgley (Farscape)

  11. […] Iโ€™ve written a number of articles about sexy women, the 2 most popular being 10 Hottest Babes of Sci-Fi and Maxim’s Hot 100 Lucky 13ย but I have yet to write a post about nerd-worthy sexy men.ย  […]

  12. Did you see Zoe Saldana in The Losers? It’s not sci-fi, but she rocked in that movie, excellent fight scene.

  13. Ummm….Sarah Michelle Gellar…..or do we explain that absence by saying this list is really for Sci-Fi, and Buffy is really fantasy?

    1. Exactly, this is sci-fi only. At some point I will do the “Hottest Babes of Fantasy” and the “Hottest Babes of Horror” and SMG definitely belongs on one of those lists ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. Marina Sirtis actually looked better in uniforms. I couldn’t stand the outfit pictured above. She is 100X hotter in Nemesis than she was during the first few seasons of TNG…
